Bakhona

South Africa, a country recently born to freedom but brimming with so many shattered identities. We follow one woman in her acceptance of the dual existence between traditional spiritualism and the  western religion she’s been indoctrinated into.

Based on the photographic series “Andindedwa”, by Thina Zibi, Bakhona drives a knife into the surface of one of many image constructs South African youth struggle with on a daily basis.
